Everything from using the right nails (ie ones that won't shear off and cause the walls to collapse under their own weight) to having appropriate wiring. "Code violations" can be minor (like, the house is .3 centimeters taller than local housing law allows & they're going to make you rip off the roof & start over), but more likely they are HUGE, SCARY, EXPENSIVE problems to be aware of.

Anybody please feel free to correct me if I've got this all wrong; I could probably stand to be educated myself.

Oh, and by the way: Most of the "Estate Agents" I've seen have big hair even here. And they almost always look like models on their business cards, even if they're plain to homely in real life.Ashhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00842384198276727258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548832815603141151.post-37465487752930828942008-10-11T18:20:00.000-07:002008-10-11T18:20:00.000-07:00It also mentions on the listing site, "numerous co...It also mentions on the listing site, "numerous code violations recorded against this property". Here in old Blighty, it's not an expression in common parlance so I am not sure I am properly understanding the jokes. . .

I do, however, still find myself occasionally chortling somewhat by the term 'Real Estate Agent.' Sorry, as opposed to 'Fake Estate Agent'? In the United Kingdom, one simply calls those whose line of business is in the brokering of property 'Estate Agents' - although even I must admit that this is the most polite terminology used as it is oft considered to be one of the lower professions and those who choose to be employed as such are often predisposed to caddish and underhand behaviour. And they usually have over-styled hair, big kipper ties, cheap shiny suits and drive those small pseudo sports cars usually only otherwise preferred by hairdressers called Dawn.

So this blog is certainly an education for me . . . .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8548832815603141151.post-34212325368715173382008-10-08T14:47:00.000-07:002008-10-08T14:47:00.000-07:00Who would draw penises on a wall?
