Maybe it's just grainier in Nova Scotia.
This listing -- found by Terry & Shauna -- confuses me. The images are on a website, so at some point someone had access to technology beyond a photocopier.
Someone must have taken the photographs, made photocopies of them, and then... put the copies in a scanner? Taken digital photos of them? Stuffed them into the CD drive? Held them up to the monitor and said "These ones, computer! Put these ones up on the Internet!"

What a great idea for a blog! If a picture is worth a thousand words, I hope the accompanying real estate listings are blank. Sure makes you wonder, "What were they thinking?".
Does anyone else think the window placement on this house is just bizarre?
HA!! I live like 5 minutes from this, and we've done a LOt of househunting in hte last 6 years... and let me tell you, you could probably run your whole blog just off listings from my area. you never have to look further than nova scotia on www.mls.ca/
I have seen SOO many pictures like this, I never can understand it. But yes, definitely worth a laugh. Your captions make the pictures way funnier though!!!
hahahaha... you are hilarious. i can't believe you find all these pictures!!! i could never sell property that looked like most properties shown here.
Hilarious!... I agree that the captions definitely pulls more out of the picture. This is something!
The picture was taken out a screen window, I think. Why they would be taking the picture from the neighbour's kitchen window is another question entirely.
And yes, mls.ca is an unending supply of really weird photos. The best are from baba houses - estate houses previously lived in by little old Ukrainian ladies, especially in Edmonton and Winnipeg. Orange carpets and hot pink walls with antique gold furniture and ca. 600 lb. of figurines per room.
but first - they took the original picture through the screen door of the neighbor's house!
The last guy to take photos 10 years ago was never found...he was burned down with the house;but copies of these photos were mailed anonymously to the realtor recently...
Your website cracks me up. Seriously. Keep 'em coming!
Haha I love this blog! The idea is genius...are you a fan of James Lileks? Very similar humor- anyway, keep up the great work!
Thank you for this blog. I needed another way to waste time on the computer, and its so fun!!
I totally love your blog! I haven't laughed so hard in a while!
The description details worry me more:
- a 1.4 piece bathroom?
- interior floor space is 720 sq ft, but if you add up the six rooms mentioned (not including the 1.4 piece bathroom(s) or a split foyer/stairwell) you get 813.25 sq ft.
- Building type: House
- Splitlevel type: Split Level
I can tell you about the photos. They were printed on plain paper on an old B&W printer with dirty print heads, probably mailed to the lister, and then scanned in on a color scanner. That explains the horizontal stripes, and the blue streaks.
hahah this is great!
I loved the banner picture on your blog. Its so lovely.
Your blog is amazing. I spent all of last night laughing, out loud, at home alone. My partner got home and thought I had finally gone over the edge.
...and then they had a police sketch artist draw a picture of it
Love this blog - can't wait for your next post!

It does scream "Blair Witch", doesn't it?!

Time warp photo: This house was actually up for sale in the 1940s
What the heck is up with those windows? This is one of the most oddly/poorly designed homes I've ever seen.
Looks like someplace Ed Gein would have lived.
If it weren't for the very '70s-ish interior decor, I'd swear those were Depression-era WPA photos.
Those blue lines... Maybe the photos were on the computer, but they didn't have email, so they printed them on looseleaf paper?
creeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaapppppppppyyyyyyyyyyyy......
All I keep hearing in my head is the theme song from "The Wizard of Oz." There's got to be a witch under that thing.
lol oh man, your captions are hilarious to these! now, if only my computer could understand me!
Some cool photographs here>
OOOOH! OOOOOH!! I KNOW I KNOW!!!
It was probably January in Nova Scotia and thusly the house was completely and totally buried in snow and so they used their 'favorite' summer picture...
Damn photocopiers, they just don't do for real estate what they do for office jackass. (I mean the ass of the office jackass.)
Yeah, looks like it was photocopied onto notebook paper. WTF.
Okay, this one made me laugh out loud. Literally. With a mouth full of pizza. While eating lunch at my desk. With people waiting in reception. Bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha ! Awesome captions. Thanks!
