It's all there

If you're going to have only one interior photo in your listing, as in this one Roy found, you might as well try to cram as much as possible into it. Quick! The fireplace! The wallhangings! Grab the sofa! Houseplants, where are the houseplants, there they are... the stroller! Is there room for the high chair? More chairs, lots of chairs! What else? The baby, toss the baby in, toss the baby!

No one seems to understand that clutter is bad.

Yes, without speculating on race, class or parenting skills, we're generally still left speculating about taste, design skills, hygiene, visual acuity and your basic common sense... that's plenty of material!

They almost succeeded. Just a few more objects and they'd have managed to obscure the carpet. The lovely purple carpet.

That almost looks like a pulpit in front of the mantle.

I think they are trying to show that it's a child-friendly home, you know, with kids.

Maybe they ran out of film and wanted to show as much as possible of the house in one picture. This one says living area with sunlight fit for a family with children, with a nice strolling area and heat in the winter..

Just found your site and I LOVE it! I work in real estate and some of these photos made me almost fall off my chair, in laughing hysterics. How do I submit photos from my neck of the woods...I have some doozies!

Hi anonymous! I'm always happy to see listings (especially if they have the MLS number). My e-mail address is lovelylisting@gmail.com. I've been a bit flaky lately about replying, but I read -- and appreciate -- every one.

Dining room chairs, you now have a new job description: Baby Fence. Good luck with that.
